A man has been arrested after police shut down a cannabis farm.
Around 75 cannabis plants were seized by officers during a house raid in Port Arthur Road, Sneinton.
Police attended the house after receiving intelligence that drug activity could be taking place inside.
Cannabis was then discovered growing in four different rooms within the house, while the electricity was also found to have been bypassed.
All the illicit drugs were seized and destroyed by police on Tuesday (19 April 2022).
A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis and abstracting electricity.
He has been released under investigation.
Chief Inspector Jon Foy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “I would like to thank officers from our response team for quickly acting on intelligence received to help take these drugs out of circulation and away from our streets.
“Cannabis production is not harmless and it is certainly not a victimless crime.
“In addition to being a gateway drug for those who take it, the production of cannabis is also often linked to organised criminality and a range of serious offences, including the exploitation of vulnerable people.
“These offences can also pose a severe fire risk to houses in the neighbouring area, due to the dangers caused by bypassing electricity.
“We are absolutely committed to tackling drug production in our communities and will continue to respond quickly to reports of drug activity across the county.”
