Detective Sergeant Nathan Bingham, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“We are using all available resources to track down the people responsible as this must have been a frightening incident for staff in the shop at the time.

“The robbery took place early on a Saturday evening and we believe there may be people who were in the area at the time who witnessed what happened and could have important information.

“We believe this to have been an isolated incident but understand some members of the community may have concerns. Thankfully, incidents like this are extremely rare and are always met with a robust response from the force.

“If anyone has any concerns, please speak to an officer.”

The shopkeeper suffered a cut to his finger during the incident.

Anyone who has any information which could help investigators with their inquiries, including anyone who may have recorded CCTV, mobile phone, dash-cam, or doorbell camera footage, should contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 709 of 23 September 2023, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
