Detectives investigating a suspected firearm discharge have arrested two people.
Officers were called to Whitegate Vale, Clifton, Nottingham, at around 6 pm on Tuesday (12 November) after reports that a window had been damaged at a home.
Enquiries revealed that a suspected firearm had been discharged and a brick was also thrown through the window.
No one was injured during the incident, and officers have been carrying out a thorough investigation to determine what happened.
A 28-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
He was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug after cannabis was discovered during searches.
A 27-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession of a Class B drug.
Detective Inspector Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Incidents of this nature are thankfully very rare in Nottinghamshire but understandably cause concern in communities.
“Officers have been working hard on the investigation, so I’m pleased to share this update.
“People in the community can expect to see a continued police presence in the area while enquiries continue, so if anyone has any concerns, please speak to an officer.
“Although these arrests are a significant development, we are still asking for the public’s help.
“It is really important that anyone with any information comes forward and speaks to an officer.”
