A flood alert is in place in the area.
The Environment Agency said:
‘River levels have risen at the Clifton Bridge, Colwick and Shardlow river gauge as a result of Storm Babet.
‘Consequently, the risk of flooding remains.
‘Areas most at risk are Queens Drive Park and Ride, the B6540 Tamworth Road at Sawley, Thrumpton, Stoke Bardolph, Fiskerton, Hoveringham and Gunthorpe, Wykes Lane at Farndon, Tolney Lane and Kelham Road at Newark, the A6097 at Gunthorpe, Fosse Road at East-Stoke, Boat Lane at Bleasby and Hoveringham, and cellars of low-lying properties at Cavendish Bridge.
‘We expect river levels to remain high until 24/10/2023. Further rainfall is forecast for Tuesday, 24/10/2023.’
