Updated – Colwick: Fire crews tackle large waste fire

Fire engines are at a blaze on the Colwick Loop Road.

UPDATE 4:30 pm | NFRS: ‘The industrial fire in Colwick is now thought to be extinguished, and we are reducing to one fire engine on scene overnight.

‘We’ll keep monitoring the stack to ensure we are able to respond quickly in the event of a flare up.’

NFRS: ‘We are working closely with the Environment Agency at this incident but currently have no concerns about smoke plumes. Updates to follow as our crews continue their work, but local residents should be reassured this incident is under control.’
