A man has been arrested after police recovered a knife after a shoplifting incident in Radford.
Police response officers were called to Castle Retail Park, on Radford Boulevard, following reports that someone had attempted to take two air fryers from a store at around 2.45pm on September 3.
On arrival, officers found one suspect, a man, who had already been detained by shop staff, and found that the air fryers had been recovered.
Officers were further told that, upon detaining the man, a kitchen knife had fallen to the floor and was then recovered.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of shop theft and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He was released on conditional bail pending further enquiry.
PC Alexander De’ath, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “While nothing was taken in this instance, it’s important to note that shoplifting is not a victimless crime.
“Shop theft can cause harm and distress to both staff members and shoppers and negatively impacts the wider community.
“We would like to thank the staff members at the store for their support in this arrest and for reporting this incident so quickly.”
