Nottingham City Council issued an update after some people asked if the event is still on on Saturday evening after an incident in the early hours of this morning.
A spokesperson said at 6:31 pm:
‘Just a confirmation for visitors attending Light Night this evening ( Sat 1 March ) that Nottingham Castle is open as planned.
‘This follows the police incident earlier today when the site and surrounding streets were closed.
‘We hope everyone has a fantastic evening – please share your photos!’
