West Bridgford Repair Café returns this weekend – see full details

The group is part of the Nottingham Repair Café network and affiliated to Repair Café International Foundation.

Repair Cafés are free meeting places all about building skills to create a more sustainable future as a community.

Visitors bring their broken items from home and together with the specialist repair volunteers, learn how to fix their loved items.

Based at the Holy Spirit Social centre on Victoria Road, West Bridgford, this group was established seven years ago and holds events four times a year. There are currently 44 friendly volunteers and the group is always looking to welcome more, just call in and have a chat.

The group is part of the Nottingham Repair Café network and affiliated to Repair Café International Foundation which started in the Netherlands in 2007, and subsequently led to a thriving community of Repair Cafés around the world.

Liz Bonner, who established the group, said “Our Repair Café focuses on allowing people to get a second life out of items they may have otherwise replaced or thrown away, as well as bringing a new sparkle to well-loved items.

“Whether through learning from our repair volunteers, or using resources we can provide for local specialists, our aim is to reduce overconsumption and let people fall in love with the things they own all over again!

However, not every item can be repaired, but it’s always worth checking with us first.”

Why not give it a go? The next opening is on Saturday the 22nd of March, 10am – 1pm, last booking in time is 12.30pm. Pop in and take your next step towards a sustainable and sparkling future!

There is no charge, just a donation to keep the Café running and any surplus money is donated to a charity nominated by one of our volunteer repairers.
