The Griffin Inn, Swithland has been acquired by the pubco founded by Stuart Broad and Harry Gurney.
After recently taking investment from Lee Cash (founder of Peach Pubs), the group has moved fast to open its second pub after the success of their flagship venue, The Tap & Run, Upper Broughton.
“When Everards called to say the Griffin was about to become available it was an opportunity we jumped at.
“As a Loughborough lad, I know the reputation this pub has, and I’m thrilled and honoured to take the baton from John and Jay after 20 years.” Said company MD, Harry Gurney.
“Everards have some wonderful pubs, some superb beer and most importantly, their values as an organisation are closely aligned to ours at the Cat & Wickets Pub Company, we are very excited about working with them,” added Stuart.
The group intend to recreate their premium gastro pub menu and drinks list from The Tap & Run.
Regulars of the Tap & Run will see familiar offers such as Friday night live music and two for £12 cocktails, award winning Sunday roasts and even familiar faces, as many of the Tap & Run team have re-joined to help get The Griffin off the ground.
Lee Cash commented, “I have viewed hundreds of pubs in the last twenty years and not many got me as excited as The Griffin does.
“We have done a two-and-a-half-day refurbishment to the tune of £50,000, working with Richard Brooks of Leicester based Tanwood, who have done an incredible job in such a short space of time.”
