East Midlands Airport Parking – East Midlands Airport has announced the increase which it says is because it ‘lost all passenger revenue’ during lockdown.
In a communication today which announced the resumption of passenger flights, a spokesperson said that anyone driving to the airport should note that only a limited number of car parks will be in operation, drivers are advised to familiarise themselves with booking details and follow the signs to the correct car park.

Adding that because of a ‘loss of all passenger income streams since March’, the airport has had to increase prices for some services including rapid drop off (RDO).
Drivers dropping off passengers are not permitted to enter the terminal.
Rapid drop-off ( and pick-up ) will now cost £4.00 for 15 minutes and £1.00 for every minute thereafter. The increase is up from £3 for ten minutes, plus £1 per minute.
Other parking options noted are:
– Short Stay 1 car park: Prices starting from £5 for 30 minutes stay.
Blue Badge parking is available at Short Stay 1 car park (Free for first 30 minutes), where blue badge parking bays are clearly identifiable. Short Stay 1 can only be accessed by walking to/from the terminal, but should you require a wheelchair or further assistance, help points are located in all car parks.

– Free parking for up to 1 hour: Park free of charge in our Long Stay 1 car park, for up to 1 hour. Long Stay 1 is a 5 to 10 minute bus ride from the terminal. Please press for a token at entry, which provides up to 1 hour free parking, overstay is charged at £1 per minute thereafter. Payment at the exit is card only.
