East Midlands Ambulance Service, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and police officers attended the incident.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
‘We received a call at 1:04 pm on Monday 23 June to reports of a person in the water at Nottingham Canal on Carrington Street in the city.
‘Two fire crews from London Road Fire Station and two from Highfields Fire Station attended.
‘The person had managed to get out of the canal unaided – the incident was handed over to EMAS and the police.’
