Trains are running again between Leicester and East Midlands Parkway after a person was hit by a train, East Midlands Railway (EMR) has said.
The incident has disrupted services on the London St Pancras–Nottingham–Sheffield and Leicester–Nottingham routes.
The line has now reopened in both directions, but passengers continue to face extended delays and alterations while the operator works to restore its advertised timetable.
EMR said it expects the timetable to resume on the affected routes by 7pm.
