Energy drinks stolen in HGV theft in Nottinghamshire

Police report the incident happened in the early hours of Thursday 14 April.

Nottinghamshire Police neighbourhood policing team for Bassetlaw said:

‘Teamwork made the dream work in the early hours of yesterday morning after a large number of cases of energy drink were stolen from a HGV.

‘Not ones to miss out on a buzz officers from both Notts Police and our friends at Lincs Police went on the hunt (a bit like Easter, but with more sugar) to find the very thirsty villains.

‘It wasn’t long before officers located the vehicle involved near Tuxford and naturally, being on such an energy rush the occupants were in no rush to stop for us!

‘Eventually they abandoned the van and gave it legs… well tried (we think they got the wrong drink and thought they had wings…)

‘Despite trying to out-fizz us 3 males were met by by PD Yogi barking ‘hey hey hey’ nearby and were detained, the look on their face was like all the mango juice had been sucked from them.

‘They are currently on their sugar crash to reality.’
