Farnborough Spencer Academy celebrates students ‘achieving their dreams’

Staff, students and families at Farnborough Spencer Academy were jumping for joy today, as the Academy celebrated its best ever GCSE results.

Executive Principal, Graeme Smith commented “our school motto is that ‘we are proud’. That is true for everyone at Farnborough today. The students have worked exceptionally hard and achieved the strongest outcomes in the Academy’s history. We are excited to hear of their progress as they move on from us to their post 16 education. We know that they will succeed, whether they are heading to complete A Levels, vocational qualifications or apprenticeships. I would like to pay special tribute to the staff and families who supported our young people. This wouldn’t have been possible without them.”

Farnborough is celebrating the whole cohort today. The resilience shown by students like Lucia Anderson-Miller, who is heading to study animal care, and Kyra Parker, who overcame so much in achieving her grades is a testament to the strong pastoral support provided at the Academy.

Credit is also due to Tyrone Boulton who has worked exceptionally hard with the support of the learning support team since joining the Academy in Year 8, achieving a strong set of results.

As students were celebrating, they were keen to praise the staff who have supported them so well. Seren Ingle said, “having the support team available has really helped during the GCSE period, allowing me to achieve amazing grades and even one hundred percent in my child development exam.” Evie Brown agreed, adding “the mentoring I received really helped. Every time I doubted myself, my mentor built me back up and motivated me to want to succeed on the days I didn’t want to come in and never gave up.”
