Crews attended a fire in an outbuilding with solar panels.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said:
‘On 25 June we attended an incident involving an out building with solar panels involved in fire.
‘It was in Harby, near Melton Mowbray.
‘This was a make up call along with a number of other crews from Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
‘Did you know that regular maintenance of your solar panels not only maximises their efficiency but also ensures safety for your home and our firefighters?
‘We would like to share a few tips on how you can keep your solar panels in top shape:
1. **Regular Inspections**: Check your panels for damage or debris. Look for cracks, dirt buildup, or loose connections.
2. **Professional Cleaning**: Schedule professional cleaning to avoid electrical hazards and maintain panel efficiency.
3. **Clear Surroundings**: Keep the area around your panels free from flammable materials like dry leaves or branches.’
