The incident was reported on Saturday 3 May on the M1 motorway.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said:
‘On Saturday 3rd May 2025, we were mobilised to an RTC on the M1 southbound between Loughborough and Coalville at approximately 9:40 am.
‘Upon arrival at the scene, crews were met with cars still trying to drive past this incident despite the arrival of emergency services.
‘Crews immediately fended off and closed all lanes to ensure the safety of those working in the right-hand lane.

‘We urge all motorists to follow the instructions of emergency service personnel and not to overtake an emergency service vehicle when it is on blue lights.
‘Firefighters from Loughborough carefully removed a woman from the driver’s seat and assisted her to an ambulance, where she was assessed by a land ambulance doctor and EMAS paramedics.
‘The car was then recovered by Crouch, and the M1 shortly after was reopened to the public.’
