The service say they’ll be at the scene of the fire, which started earlier this afternoon for some considerable time.
Residents are urged to close doors and windows.
The A 52 has been closed in both directions because of the plumes of smoke – National Highways said:
‘The A52 in Nottinghamshire is closed in both directions between the A60 (near Clifton) and the A6005 (near Dunkirk) due to a fire at a recycling centre adjacent to the carriageway
Emergency services are currently on scene working to extinguish the fire. National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management.
Traffic is being diverted via local routes.

Road users are advised to expect disruption and to allow extra journey time.

‘Due to the scale of this incident and smoke plume the A52 North and South from Clifton Bridge to Dunkirk will be closed. We’ll be working with our partners at Highways England and Nottinghamshire Police.
