Brand new Fletchers Restaurant launches in Nottingham College

Fletchers will be offering today’s quality dining experience, with tomorrow’s future stars.

Staffed by students supervised by industry professionals.

Last week saw several successful dining sittings happen as students got to cook and serve the public, for the first time, following months of studying online in lockdown.

Following a very successful sold-out opening Gala Launch Evening on Wednesday 19th May – where old friends and customers returned and fresh faces arrived to be greeted by eager students, who could not wait to serve and work in a bustling environment, now that lockdown is easing.

Fletchers Restaurant is the successor to the popular student training commercial restaurant and kitchen, Adams Restaurant.

Fletchers’ new home is located on the south side of the city offering high quality contemporary dining in real working environment for Nottingham College students. The unique element of this new dining experience is that at Fletchers, the food is prepared and served by the students who are studying catering and hospitality courses at the College alongside a skilled head chef Jim Tippett.

In the evenings, the restaurant is set to be open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and will host special menus these can be five course extravaganzas takeover evenings or specially themed evenings focusing on local ingredients.

Some of these distinctive evenings are hosted with graduated alumni, who now own their own eateries and businesses or have appeared on shows like MasterChef The Professionals.

For those who used to visit the Adams restaurant in the historic Adams building you can still expect the same quality, professional service and atmosphere and ambience, but in a new more contemporary setting in our new building, the City Hub, which is situated in the south side of the city, only 5 mins from the Nottingham train station. Fletchers is accessible via tram bus there is a taxi drop-off point, but there is no on-site parking.

Upcoming nights in May include a spice night. Which will be a whistle stop tour of some of the world’s cuisine with a touch of spice with highlights from the Middle East, the Caribbean and onto Mexico. In June you can look forward to a specialist vegetarian menu and a taste of all things British with a trio of menus; the Coastline Menu, a Modern British Menu and a Summertime British Menu.

“We are incredibly excited about moving to our new home at the City Hub to continue providing a vital ‘realistic working environment’ in which our students can continue to learn and apply their skills to the highest standards to eventually embark on successful careers in the catering industry – which of course being one of the biggest and most valuable sectors of the economy in Nottingham.

Many of our alumni cherished their time with us and often return to share their knowledge, skills, and experience to help inspire and develop the stars of the future with special menus.. After a challenging year for everyone – especially our students having their valuable study and restaurant experience disrupted we are delighted to finally be opening the doors to our wonderful customers who continue to support us, we can’t wait to serve you!”

Mia Pendleton – Level 3 hospitality supervision and leadership student said:

“I am excited to be back at college especially since we are now able to take part in service at the new Fletchers restaurant. It has been really fun to be able to take part in the planning process for opening up Fletchers to the public. It’s going to be really nice to see all of our hard work come together in service.”
