Nottingham City Council is hosting a free wildlife walk along the River Trent as part of a series of events encouraging people to explore the city’s parks, riversides and green spaces.
The latest Nottingham Wildlife Walk will take place around Victoria Embankment, offering a relaxed stroll along one of the city’s best-known riverside settings.
When? Wednesday, May 13 10 am – 12 pm
The walks are organised by the council’s Greenspace and Natural Environment team and are designed as informal walk-and-talk events. They give residents the chance to meet others, take gentle exercise, visit local green spaces and learn more about Nottingham’s urban wildlife.
The Victoria Embankment walk will focus on riverside habitats along the Trent, with participants looking out for birds, insects and plant life while hearing more about the natural and historical significance of the area.
The event is free to attend. The council says people may also wish to support any independent cafés nearby.
The Embankment is largely accessible, with wide, flat paths, although some grassy areas may be uneven or muddy depending on the weather. Sturdy footwear is recommended.
The meeting point is outside the Memorial Garden Archway on the riverside. The What3Words location is ///longer.slide.camp.
Parking is available nearby, and the area is also served by bus routes, with a short walk to the Embankment.
