Home Instead Central Nottingham and West Bridgford offers event to support older people

The team at Home Instead Central Nottingham and West Bridgford have organised a free event specifically tailored to providing information and services for older people in the area.

Their Older Person Information Day is taking place at The Sir Julien Cahn Pavilion in West Bridgford on the 11 October from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

Finding information about products and services can be a real challenge for older people, and this challenge can be a barrier to independence. With so much available online, drilling down and finding the right choices can be difficult. Similarly, having to make multiple appointments and trips out to speak to people in person can be exhausting and overwhelming. For this reason, the Older Person Information Day promises a range of information from local, specialised companies to support older people and help them continue to live independently.

Attendees can expect to meet a range of professionals offering advice, services and information, including a wills and probate expert, a private pharmacist, a private elderly transportation company, and an expert on elderly scam awareness, who will be giving a TED talk. Nottinghamshire Hospice will also be in attendance.

Charlotte Johnson, owner of Home Instead Central Nottingham and West Bridgford said: “We are holding this event to support the older people in our community and their families. Our aim is to help people live independently at home, where they feel most comfortable, in familiar surroundings, where they can enjoy a stimulating and enhanced quality of life. This event is tailored for people who may find searching for information and making decisions about their health or their future daunting. At this event older people will have the chance to speak to a variety of experts and foster relationships with service providers that will help them make the right choices for them.”

Charlotte added: “We look forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new people at the event in October. It is open to all so please book a ticket and come along.”
