A large police response overnight to a concern for safety in Ilkeston.
Police said in an update on Saturday 20 April at 11:24 pm:
‘There is currently a large police presence in Ilkeston this evening (Saturday 20 April) following an incident at a property on Hartington Place, due to concerns for the safety of a man.
‘We will remain in the area as a precaution for the safety of the public.

‘A police officer was taken to hospital earlier this evening for treatment for an injury which is not life threatening.
‘We can confirm that no officers or other members of the public are currently being held hostage.
‘We will provide further updates when we are able to.’
