Image shared by police after driver attacked through car window in Fletcher Gate

Police have released images of a man they’d like to speak to after a driver was attacked in Nottingham city centre.

The driver was travelling along Fletcher Gate when a woman stepped into the side of his car as she tried to cross the road.

The collision was witnessed by another man who then kicked the driver’s window, causing it to smash.

He then leaned into the car and punched the driver twice in the face.

The incident happened shortly after 1:30 PM on 30th September.

As part of the investigation, officers would like to speak to the man pictured in the above images.

PC Laura Hunt, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“This was an unprovoked attack that understandably left the driver feeling very shaken.
“He did the right thing in stopping when the pedestrian walked into his car and did not deserve what happened to him next.

“He sustained bruising to the face and a broken tooth, and we are determined to bring the person responsible to justice.

“Having reviewed CCTV footage of the incident, we are satisfied that the man pictured in these images will be able to assist the investigation.

“To this end, we encourage him to come forward as soon as possible. Equally, if you recognise him, please get in touch by calling 101 quoting crime reference 24* 583451.”
