Investigation launched after major fire in derelict building

The fire in a derelict building in Bramcote was attended by ten fire crews and emergency services partners.

The blaze was reported on the evening of Sunday 12 May, 10 fire engines, two aerial ladder platforms, the water bowser, a command support vehicle and a welfare unit attended the incident as well as teams from East Midlands Ambulance Service and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:

‘This morning ( 11 am Monday 13 May ) the final two fire engines from Stockhill and Highfields left the scene at 10:30am, after working through the night to extinguish the fire.

‘A joint investigation is about to begin, to determine the cause of the fire.
Thank you to members of the public for your patience as we worked to extinguish this fire.
