A persistent knife carrier who robbed a 13-year-old boy at a tram stop was arrested moments later and has now been jailed.
Teejay Bullivant approached a group of young people at Bulwell tram stop around 8.45pm on 2 April 2025.
He ordered members of the group to hand over their mobile phones before confronting the 13-year-old and showing him the handle of a knife in his waistband.
The victim handed his phone and a vape over and 19-year-old Bullivant fled in the direction on the tram stop’s car park.
Police were called and quickly caught up with Bullivant who was aggressive and threatening to officers.
He was duly detained and found to be in possession of cannabis.
Earlier the same evening, Bullivant had approached a young woman at the David Lane tram stop and – once again – showed her the handle of a knife in his waistband.
The victim was able to flee by boarding a tram when Bullivant’s partner intervened.
Bullivant, of Waterloo Crescent, Nottingham, went on to plead guilty to robbery, two counts of possession of a knife in a public place and possession of a Class B drug.
At Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday (29 April) he was jailed for a total of three-and-a-half years.
Bullivant was also sentenced for a series of offences in Derbyshire, including an assault at Derby bus station on 21 March 2025 when he picked a fight with another man and kicked the victim while he was lying on the floor.
He also threatened a man with a knife at a Derby skatepark on the same day.
Bullivant went on to steal an electric bike from an address in Ilkeston on 26 October 2025 and threatened the victims with a machete when they confronted him about it.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of knife possession, assault and theft in relation to these offences.
Detective Constable Natalie Gooderham, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Bullivant is a persistent knife carrier and has shown himself quite prepared to show off with these weapons, threaten people with them and steal from them.
“He targeted a 13-year-old boy at a tram stop in order to rob him and the young victim must have been terrified when he was shown a knife.
“Following the robbery, officers were quickly at the scene and were able to locate Bullivant and arrest him.
“Street robberies of this nature are very serious and unpleasant offences which can have a deep psychological impact on victims.
“They are always investigated thoroughly and the force has team of detectives working on bringing robbers to justice.”
