Firefighters expect to remain at Langar Industrial Estate for the rest of the evening as they continue to tackle a fire involving large amounts of scrap metal.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said 12 fire engines and a number of special appliances are currently at the scene.
Crews have been working throughout the afternoon in extreme heat, with support from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service.

A High Volume Pump from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service is also being used to help get water to the remote and isolated site.

In an update, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews have been working hard all afternoon, in extreme heat, and we expect to be here for the remainder of the evening.

“But residents can be assured the fire is under control.”
People are still being urged to avoid the area.
Residents living nearby are also being asked to keep windows and doors closed due to the smoke plume from the fire.
