Northbound has re-opened, although 1 (of 2) lanes remains closed.

The A1 in Lincolnshire is closed in both directions between the A52 (Barrowby) and A607 (Harlaxton) near Grantham due to a serious collision involving a motorbike.
Due to the nature of the incident, Police collision investigation works will ongoing throughout the afternoon.

Diversion Routes
Southbound traffic is advised to follow the Hollow Square diversion symbol:
- Exit the A1 southbound at the A52 junction at Barrowby and turn left at the end of the slip road.
- Continue for approximately 12 miles and then take the 1st exit at the “Saxondale Roundabout” followed by the second exit at the “Bingham Interchange” to join the A46 southbound, towards Leicester.
- Remain on the A46 southbound for approximately 7 miles and then exit at the junction with the A606 for Nottingham/Melton Mowbray.
- At the roundabout take the second exit onto the A606 eastbound and travel along it for approximately 9 miles to reach Melton Mowbray.
- At Melton Mowbray turn left to join the A607 towards Grantham.
- Remain on the A607 for approximately 13 miles to reach the “Harlaxton Interchange” and re-join the A1.
Northbound traffic is advised to follow the Solid Square diversion symbol:
- Exit the A1 at B1174 Little Ponton, continue along the B1174 into Grantham to B1174/A52/A607 Bridge End Road/ South Parade junction (Gainsborough Corner), then turn right (east) onto the A52.
- Continue along the A52 to A52/B6403 roundabout. Turn left (east) and continue along the A52 until the A52/A15 Roundabout, then turn left (north) onto the A15 and travel along the A15 through Osbournby village.
- Continue straight over the A15/A153 Quarrington Roundabout to the A17/A15 Holdingham Roundabout, and then turn left (west) onto the A17.
- Continue for 7.4 miles until the A17/C208 Coddington Roundabout, go straight over and continue along A17 to A1/A17/A46 roundabout, then go straight over onto A46 to A46/A1 Brownhills Roundabout.
- Turn right (north) at Brownhills taking the third entry off onto the A1 northbound slip road to rejoin the A1
