The M1 in Leicestershire is closed in both directions between J21 and J20 due to a Police led incident.
Leicestershire Police and emergency services are on scene.
Road users travelling Southbound are advised to follow the Hollow Square symbol.
- Exit at J21 and take the M69 south.
- Exit at J1. At the roundabout take the first exit on to the A5.
- Remain on the A5 southbound. At the roundabout with the A4303 take the first exit.
- Follow the A4303 eastbound to J20 of the M1. Take the third exit to re-join the M1 southbound.
Road users travelling Northbound are advised to follow the Hollow Square symbol.

- Exit at J20 and take the first exit from the roundabout on to the A4303 westbound.
- At the roundabout with the A5 take the fourth exit.
- Follow the A5 northbound to the M69 J1.
- At the roundabout take the fifth exit on to the M69 northbound.
- Follow the M69 northbound to J3 – the interchange with the M1 (J21) – and bear left to follow the link road on to the M1 northbound.

‘Road closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M1 both ways between J20 A4304 Lutterworth Road (Lutterworth) and J21 M69 (Leicester).
‘The road was closed at around 19:15. There is trapped traffic within the closure that has yet to be released.’
