Heavy rain has caused flooding on the carriageway.
National Highways said at 5:30 pm Tuesday 16 August:
‘Traffic has been released on the M1 southbound at J28 near Alfreton.
‘The J28 southbound exit slip is closed due to flooding, following very heavy rainfall.
‘On the M1 northbound, lane 4 (of 4 lanes) is closed at J28.
