A 45-year-old man has been charged with drug offences after police seized Class A drugs and a knife during a car stop on the A52 in West Bridgford.
Christian Franklin, of Harrow Street, Grantham, Lincolnshire, is accused of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday 26 January and is due to appear next at Nottingham Crown Court on 23 February 2026.
Officers stopped a vehicle at Wheatcroft Island, near Edwalton, at around 10.30pm on Friday 23 January. Two men were detained, and police recovered cocaine, heroin, cash, equipment associated with drug supply and a lock knife.
A second man, aged 52, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a Class B drug. He has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said the stop formed part of ongoing work to disrupt the supply of drugs on the road network.
