A man is due in court after a knife was recovered in Basford.
Officers were called to Basford Road at about 1pm on Saturday (4 April) after a suspect was reportedly seen in possession of a knife.
Immediately after arriving at the scene, officers searched the vicinity and detained a suspect.
A subsequent search revealed a kitchen knife, which has now been seized.
A man from Basford, has been charged with possessing a bladed article in a public place.
The 39-year-old has been released on bail and is due in Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 23 April.
PC Mark McKay, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We take all reports of weapons possession extremely seriously and will always respond quickly.
“On this occasion that rapid response allowed us to take a dangerous weapon off the streets, and to bring a suspect safely into custody.”
