Man charged after reports of intruder entering homes

A man is due to appear in court charged with seven offences following reports of an intruder entering homes on a Broxtowe street.

Les Shilton, 42, of no fixed address, is charged with burglary with intent to steal, burglary and theft, aggravated vehicle taking, going equipped for theft, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

He is set to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 6 March 2020).

The charges follow reports of a man walking into homes on Eltham Drive, armed with a hammer, on Wednesday (4 March 2020).

During one of the reported incidents the suspect entered the home before stealing the victim’s house and car keys and then taking her car.
