A man has been charged following the theft of an ice cream van.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police were called just after 1am yesterday (3 September) to a report that an ice cream van had been stolen in Bobbers Mill Road, Bobbers Mill.

Gavin Fouracres, 22, of Briar Gate in Long Eaton, has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, driving without due care and attention, driving without insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a license and failing to stop for police.

Inspector Mark Stanley said: “The theft of commercial vehicles can have a really big impact on small business owners who often rely on them to make a living.

“I would ask the public to always be vigilant and report any suspicious activity around vehicles to us.”
