Man in court after knifepoint robbery attempt

A suspect has appeared in court following reports a man had been threatened with a knife.

Officers on patrol in Radford Road, Radford, Nottingham, were approached by the victim around 11pm on Friday (28 November).

He said he had been approached in the kitchen area of a multi-occupancy home by a man who demanded he hand over his phone and money.

Officers located a suspect and recovered a knife after attending the property.

Neke Reid, aged 33, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted robbery and possession of a knife in a public place in relation to the incident.

He has also been charged with assaulting the same victim one day earlier.

Reid has additionally been charged with assault after another man was attacked while travelling on a tram at the Compton Acres stop on 23 August 2025.

He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (1 December) and was remanded in custody until his next appearance on 5 January 2026 at Nottingham Crown Court.

Detective Sergeant Kate Hyde, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Any report of a knife-enabled crime is taken with the utmost seriousness.

“I’m pleased the suspect will remain in custody following this initial appearance before the courts.”
