A man has been jailed after police discovered he was parked outside a takeaway with a car full of drugs.
Officers on patrol spotted a Toyota Auris in Alfreton Road, Nottingham, during the early hours of 26 November 2022.
Intelligence linked the vehicle to drug crime so the patrol car pulled up behind it and officers began talking to the driver, Matloob Shezad.
He appeared nervous, was visibly shaking and struggling to answer basic questions put to him.
Shezad’s behaviour prompted officers to carry out searches. They found cash in his pockets and Class A drugs secreted in various parts of the car.
The centre console of the vehicle had a loose panel which concealed deal bags and a large amount of white powder.
A black carrier bag under the driver’s seat contained cocaine and a number of pills which were later found to be MDMA and ketamine.
Further cash was found under a foot mat and two mobile phones were discovered in a door pocket.

Shezad, aged 53, of Glapton Road, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, ketamine and MDMA.
He was jailed for two years at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday (19 May).
Police Constable Sophie Dyson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The officers on patrol spotted this car and quick checks revealed it had previously been linked to drug crime.
“They then carried out searches and found a significant amount of various illegal drugs.
“These skills of observing and searching are vital for any officer and those involved deserve praise for a great job.
“Their diligence has allowed us to seize and destroy drugs and put a dealer before the courts.
“Class A drugs ruin countless lives in our communities so it is always positive news when we can disrupt this illegal trade.”
