Man jailed for 15 years for repeatedly raping woman in Nottingham

A man who repeatedly raped a woman during an attack at a house in Nottingham has been jailed for 15 years.

Dylan Millns, 28, of Wintersdale Drive, Leicester, was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday 3 November. He will serve an extended five years on licence.

A three-week trial heard that Millns attacked the woman over several hours in 2024. He hit and repeatedly raped her, and pushed her head into a pillow so she could not breathe.

The woman escaped through a window and contacted police.

While awaiting trial at HMP Nottingham, Millns repeatedly telephoned her in an attempt to persuade her not to give evidence. Police said these calls amounted to a series of acts intended to pervert the course of justice.

During the trial, Millns pleaded guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. A jury found him guilty of four counts of rape, one count of controlling and coercive behaviour and one count of intentional strangulation.

Following separate investigations, he also admitted assault by beating against a second woman and assault occasioning actual bodily harm against a third woman. Those offences took place in 2023.

Millns was also placed on the sex offenders register, and restraining orders were imposed to protect each of the three women.
