Man seriously assaulted on London Road canal towpath

An investigation has been launched following a report of a serious assault in Nottingham.

The incident happened along a canal path near London Road Bridge, Nottingham, at around 9am today (Thursday 17 July).

Chief Inspector Craig Berry, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “A man has been taken to hospital and a cordon remains in place.

“Officers are working hard to understand the circumstances of what happened and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

“Anyone who saw the incident or has any information is asked to call us on 101, quoting incident 145 of 17 July 2025.”
