A cordon is in place on Burton Street in Nottingham city centre whilst officers conduct enquiries following an assault.
Officers are investigating after they were called to reports that a man had been attacked just before 2:10am this morning.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries which are not reported to be life-threatening or altering.
Detective Inspector Ruby Burrow, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers are in the city centre following reports of a serious assault.
“They were on scene quickly after the call and any such reports will always result in a swift police response.
“Local officers will also be visible throughout the area to offer reassurance and ease any concerns that local residents might have.
“It is very early in the investigation and no arrests have been made at this stage. However, enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what happened and we would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to get in touch on 101, quoting incident 44 of 27 August 2021.”
