Police arrested two suspects after a man was allegedly threatened with a firearm.
A man was walking in Gregory Boulevard with a woman and child when a black VW Golf pulled up in front on them at around 6.20pm on Sunday night (6 February 2022).
It was reported the driver revved the engine before pulling out a gun and pointing it at the man.
A passenger inside the vehicle is also said to have brandished a knife during the incident.
The man, woman and child were allowed to leave the scene and were not harmed during the incident.
Following enquiries, armed police descended upon an address in Winchester Street, Sherwood, at 8.30pm on the same evening and arrested two men, aged 40 and 45.
They were taken into custody for questioning.
Detective Sergeant Nigel Malik, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “When officers were made aware of this report, they were quick to establish the circumstances of what had happened.
“Thankfully, no-one was physically hurt and two suspects were quickly detained following enquiries into the incident.
“This had the potential to have devastating consequences and we are taking this extremely seriously. That said, this type of incident is rare and we believe that those involved are known to each other and that there was no wider risk to the public.
“Local officers continue to be in the area and we urge anyone with concerns to speak to them.”
