Man with lanyard, handcuff key and radio charged after impersonating a police officer in Nottingham city

'The male has now been charged with the offence and awaits sentencing.'

The incident was reported by security staff.

 

Nottingham City Police said:

‘Operation Reacher Officers attended reports of a man impersonating a plain clothed Police Officer within the city centre of Nottingham after being reported to police by security staff.

‘Officers quickly established his identity and after collating further evidence, arrested Ian Scott of Woodborough Road for the offence.

‘Officers also seized a police lanyard, handcuff key and non-police issue radio from his property upon arrest.

‘The male has now been charged with the offence and awaits sentencing.’
