Residents nearby are advised to keep doors and windows closed.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said at 5:05 pm 8 June:
‘We are currently in attendance at a large fire at Access Road in Ranskill, where scrap cars and a crusher are well alight.
‘Local residents are advised to keep their doors and windows shut, and we ask that people avoid the area.
‘Firefighters are working hard on scene to extinguish the fire, however we predict to be on site for several hours at least.’
