There is a tree blocking the railway at Netherfield.
EMR said at 1 pm:
‘This is between Nottingham and Grantham/Newark Castle and is disrupting our trains on the Liverpool Lime Street/Nottingham/Norwich, Matlock/Derby/Nottingham/Cleethorpes, Crewe/Derby/Nottingham/Lincoln, and Nottingham/Skegness routes.
‘Network Rail are on site to assess the removal process of the tree and begin to do this.
‘Trains running through the area from Nottingham towards either Grantham or Newark Castle will not be able to run, which will result in alterations and cancellations in both directions on the affected routes.
‘At present we are expecting the problem to be fixed in the next 2 hours. As soon as the problem is fixed our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 14:30.’
