M&S has today unveiled further details about the renewal of its West Bridgford store.
Work is already underway onsite, with the store set to re-open on Thursday, 28th November.
The complete transformation will deliver a fresh, market-style foodhall, including a larger, brand-new bakery set to move to the front of the store, an improved produce section, and a new on-the-go coffee machine, alongside a bigger frozen offering and new Click & Collect facilities.
As part of the makeover, new flooring and lighting are being installed, as well as external signage and M&S’s signature neon lighting inside.
There will also be an improved till area with a mix of manned and self-service tills, with more tills available than before to ensure quick service for customers.
The renewal is part of a £32m investment by M&S in the Midlands, following extensive renewals at the retailer’s Fosse Park and Tamworth stores.
M&S West Bridgford opened in January 2006 and is one of 13 M&S stores across Nottinghamshire, where the retailer also works with over 70 Select Farm partners.
While the store is temporarily closed, customers’ nearest stores are M&S Nottingham (5 Albert St, Market St, Nottingham, NG1 7DA), M&S Giltbrook (Unit 5, Giltbrook Retail Park, Ikea Way, Giltbrook, Nottingham, NG16 2RP), and M&S Netherfield (Unit 1A, Victoria Retail Park, Nottingham, NG4 2PE).
All West Bridgford colleagues have been redeployed to nearby stores while the work takes place.
Store manager Martin Kirkpatrick, who has worked for M&S for 17 years and leads the store’s 100-strong team of colleagues, said of the renewal:
“We can’t wait for customers to see the new store later this month and to offer the best possible shopping experience! T
“hank you to everyone for their patience while work is underway, but I promise it will definitely be worth the wait—and just in time for the festive season! The countdown is well and truly on, and the team and I could not be more excited!”
