Multiple arrests after ‘street brawl’ in Nottinghamshire village

Two getaways cars were tracked down by response officers following the incident in Rosebay Gardens, Clipstone, at around 3.30am this morning.

A man and two women received minor injuries during the brawl, which is understood to have been sparked by an earlier incident in Singleton Avenue, Mansfield, where an argument over an item of jewellery broke out.

Following the subsequent disorder in Clipstone, response officers tracked down two vehicles and detained five suspects, with cannabis, cash and a knife found in one of the cars.

Two teenage boys, aged 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

And an 18-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of robbery, common assault, possession with intent to supply class B drugs and possession of a bladed article.

Detective Sergeant Katie Hurrell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances and I am pleased that the swift response of officers has resulted in five suspects being detained.

“Enquiries to establish the full circumstances behind these incidents are ongoing and I would ask anyone with information that may assist the investigation to call 101 quoting incident 62 of 7 July 2022.”
