Detectives have launched a murder investigation after the death of a woman.
The victim, aged in her 50s, was discovered at an address in James Close, Ollerton, shortly before 8pm yesterday (Sunday).
A 60-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of murder.
The woman’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Detective Inspector Stuart Barson, of the Major Crime team at East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), said:
“First and foremost, our thoughts today are with the victim’s family, her friends, and all who knew and loved her.
“We are currently working to establish how and when she died and are asking anyone who has seen or heard anything suspicious to contact us without delay.
“Even the smallest piece of information may prove vital to this investigation.”
