Featuring a one-day-only appearance by original Robin Hood actors from The Tales of Robin Hood.
This summer, a new chapter opens in Nottingham’s indie scene with the launch of ‘Notts’ So Faraway – a bold, immersive retail concept nestled on the first floor of Hopkinson Vintage, blending handcrafted creativity with a playful take on fairy tales and folklore.
Launching on Saturday 5th July, the grand opening event will feature a one-day-only appearance by Little John and Robin Hood, original cast members from the much-loved Tales of Robin Hood attraction. Expect live character interaction, photo opportunities, and a nostalgic nod to the city’s legendary past – exclusively for the launch day.
Created by the team behind Silver Fox, ‘Notts’ So Faraway reimagines retail as a whimsical journey through themed spaces packed with independent makers, antiques, handmade goods, and oddities. The floor is designed to feel like stepping into a modern fairy tale – part retail, part theatre – where every shelf tells a story.
“We’ve created something that feels magical but grounded in craft and community,” says founder Ashley Hudson. “It’s about championing independent sellers and creating a space that invites curiosity – with just the right amount of mischief.”
From golden geese to giants’ banjos and more pantomime puns than you can shake a wooden sword at, ‘Notts’ So Faraway is full of tongue-in-cheek storytelling and surreal set pieces. The space is carefully curated and exclusively available to vetted makers and sellers, ensuring a distinctive and cohesive experience for every visitor.
