Award-winning housebuilder William Davis Homes is creating jobs and training opportunities at its new development in Ruddington.
Work has already started on the 185-unit development in south Nottinghamshire, which opens its sales office on Saturday 3 July.
Site-based work opportunities will be available for local labourers, fork lift drivers and plant operators.
All sub-contractors are also being encouraged to take on local labour.
In addition to creating new jobs for people from the area, the housebuilder has started recruitment of two new apprentices straight from school.
Loughborough-based William Davis Homes will also be offering six work experience placements every year they are on site, and is aiming to run two school or community projects each year.
Gary Long, the company’s apprentice manager, said: “As a company, we have a strong history of training and skills development and our apprenticeship programme is testament to our commitment.
“We are pleased to be working in partnership with Rushcliffe Borough Council, the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and local schools and colleges on this community engagement initiative.”
The company has won both national and regional awards for its apprenticeship scheme.
