Nottingham bus diversions and stop changes for week beginning 14 September

Bus passengers face diversions and changes to stops across Nottingham during the week beginning Monday 14 September, with roadworks affecting Nottingham City Transport and trentbarton services.

Overnight closures on Mansfield Road will affect several routes into the city, while other works include Boundary Road in West Bridgford, Sherwood Rise and roads around the university.

Check with bus operator subject to change at any time.

Trentbarton has also announced alternative departure stops during an overnight closure of Broadmarsh bus station.

Nottingham City Transport

The following works and stop changes are listed for next week. Some closures apply only at night or during specified daytime hours.

  • Mansfield Road, between Goose Fair Island and Forest Road East: overnight closures from 14–25 September, affecting services 15, 16, 17, 56, 58, 59, 68, 69, 70, 71, 87, 88 and 89. City-bound diversions run on weeknights from 8pm to 6am, via Gregory Boulevard and Alfreton Road. Outbound buses retain their normal route through traffic management.
  • Boundary Road: service 8 affected on Thursday 17 September, from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
  • Sherwood Rise: services 68, 69, 70 and 71 divert overnight on 17 and 18 September, from 7pm to 6am.
  • Hucknall Road: service 79 diverts on the nights of 14, 15 and 16 September, from 7pm to 6am.
  • University North Entrance: the city-bound stop for services 35 and 36 closes from 14–17 September. The alternative is opposite QMC on Derby Road.
  • Carey Road crossings: service 17 affected by overnight closures continuing into 15 September, from 11pm to 5.15am.
  • Bathley Street: diversions affecting services 11 and 11C continue following the closure which began on 7 September.
  • Sneinton Hermitage: daytime closures affecting services 44 and 44A continue until 25 September.
  • Beeston Road and University Boulevard: overnight diversions affect services 18, 34C and 901, with the final overnight closure ending on 18 September.
  • Bramcote Lane: services 18A and 30 affected until 17 September.
  • Victoria Centre, Milton Street: services 28 and 30 remain affected by works which began on 1 September. Both use Burton Street alongside The Cornerhouse.
  • Lowdham Roundabout: longer-term works affecting service 26 continue. The programme began on 3 August and is expected to last approximately 13 months.
  • Linden Way, City Hospital: service 40A remains affected until further notice.

Trentbarton

Broadmarsh bus station

Trentbarton lists an overnight closure on 15 September, between 11pm and 5am, for repair work.

The operator gives the following alternative departure arrangements:

  • skylink Nottingham towards East Midlands Airport: Greyfriar Gate for departures at 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, 3.30am, 4am, 4.30am and 5am.
  • the keyworth: Nottingham railway station for the 11.30pm departure.
  • mainline: Nottingham railway station for departures at 11pm, 11.30pm, 4.15am and 4.45am.

Passengers using these late-night and early-morning journeys should check the operator’s notice before travelling.

Mansfield Road and Hucknall Road

The threes are affected by the overnight Mansfield Road closure towards Nottingham, listed from 14–25 September between 8pm and 6am.

A separate Hucknall Road notice lists overnight disruption continuing until 23 September, between 7pm and 6am. Stops affected include Top Valley Way, Rigley Drive and Gala Way in both directions, Bestwood Park Drive West towards Nottingham and Bestwood Road towards Mansfield.

Beeston Road

Indigo and skylink Nottingham have overnight diversions, with trentbarton listing closures from 8pm to 6am through the night of Thursday 17 September.

Both services miss Lace Street, University South Entrance and Tennis Centre during the closure. Additional stops are affected on each route, including QMC Derby Road, University East Entrance and Dunkirk on indigo.

Keyworth and Rushcliffe

The keyworth remains subject to a Debdale Lane diversion which trentbarton says could last until 14 September. Health Centre, West Close, Croft Road and Spinney Road stops are affected. The end date is provisional.
