Nottingham City Transport passengers are being warned of a number of bus diversions and stop closures affecting services across Nottingham, including routes in the city centre, Aspley, Broxtowe, Clifton, Arnold, Bramcote and around QMC.
From Saturday 9 May, Lilac 24, 25, 25B, 26, 26A, 27 and N26 services are unable to use their King Street stops in the city centre because of scaffolding. Buses will instead drop off at the Victoria Centre stop near the bottom of George Street, before picking up from Victoria Centre stops V3 or V4, near Boots.
In Aspley and Broxtowe, resurfacing work for Nottingham City Council is affecting Orange 35, Turquoise 77C and Turquoise 78 services. Coleby Road is closed to traffic from Wednesday 6 May until Tuesday 12 May, with buses diverting via roads including Strelley Road, Broxtowe Lane, Moor Road, Helston Drive and Flamsteed Road, depending on the route and direction of travel. Several stops on Coleby Road, Westleigh Road and surrounding roads are not being served during the works.
Westleigh Road also remains closed because of Severn Trent works until Friday 15 May. Until 12 May, the 77C and 78 are operating along Broxtowe Lane in both directions and are not serving Coleby Road or Bradfield Road. From Wednesday 13 May until the end of the works, buses will divert via Bradfield Road, Strelley Road, Moor Road, Helston Drive and Flamsteed Road, with stops on the diversion routes being observed.
In Clifton, Nobel Road will be closed from 8 am on Monday 11 May until 6 pm on Tuesday 12 May while Severn Trent Water carries out works. Navy 48 and 48X services towards Clifton will terminate at Clifton Lane – The Dip, while buses towards Nottingham will depart from the same stop at their normal times. South Notts 1A services to Clifton will terminate at Crusader Island. No stops on Nobel Road will be served during the closure.
Passengers using Orange 35, 35B and 36 services are also being advised of overnight closures on the A52 Derby Road between The Priory and QMC roundabouts. The road will be closed in both directions from 8 pm to 6 am on the evenings of Monday 11 May to Friday 15 May inclusive. Buses will divert via Clifton Boulevard, Beeston Road and University Boulevard. Passengers travelling into the city from Woodside Road are advised to cross over to catch the diverted 35, or use Broadgate.
In Arnold, Ravenswood Road will be closed from 9 am on Monday 11 May until 3.30 pm on Tuesday 19 May for carriageway repair works being carried out on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council. Lime 56 buses will divert via Coppice Road, Cross Street, High Street, Croft Road and Front Street. The High Street ASDA and Croft Road stops will not be served, and passengers should use Arnold Front Street instead. Stops on Ravenswood Road will also not be served.
Other ongoing disruption includes roadworks in Bramcote, where Pink 30 buses are unable to serve stops on Rivergreen, Deddington Lane, Eastcote or Grangewood Road. Buses are instead using Kevin Road, Humberston Road and Wollaton Vale in both directions.
Green 7 services continue to face delays because of roadworks on Melton Road near Valley Road, with the Valley Road stop towards the city closed. On Nuthall Road, footpath improvement works between Western Boulevard and Melbourne Road are expected to continue until 31 July, with possible weekday daytime lane closures and temporary stop closures affecting Turquoise 78, 79, 79A and 79B services.
The Nearsby Drive stop used by Green 5 and 5A remains closed in both directions because of roadworks, while Pathfinder 90 services at Newark Bus Station are using Bay E instead of Bay A because of an issue with the doors at Bay A.
At City Hospital, Blue 40 and 40X services remain affected by the closure of Linden Way, which is in place until 31 May. Buses are using alternative routes through the hospital campus and via Edwards Lane, with passengers advised to check the latest stopping arrangements before travelling.
Pathfinder 26 services will also divert on the evenings of Monday 11 May and Tuesday 12 May while Severn Trent Water carries out works on Burton Road. The diversion will operate between 8 pm and 6 am each night via Gedling Road, Main Road and Shearing Hill.
Nottingham City Transport says passengers can check live bus times, journey planners and stop updates through its website or mobile app before travelling.
