On Sunday 9 March, the city will host the return of the Nottingham 10K.
Organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, the UK’s largest not-for-profit events company, thousands of participants of all ages and abilities are expected to line up on the start line.
Starting in Old Market Square and finishing inside the grounds of the historic Nottingham Castle, the event marks a monumental milestone for the iconic city centre landmark, as the event continues to be amongst few sporting events to be held inside the castle.
Setting off at 9.00am, runners will head north of the city centre, travelling along Mansfield Road before reaching Nottingham Girls High School.
Once there, the route will take participants along Forest Road East and onto Church Rock Cemetery before travelling south back towards Nottingham City Centre. Runners will then reach Motorpoint Nottingham Arena before heading along Canal Street towards the finish line.
Looping around the picturesque Nottingham Park Estate, noted for its Victorian architecture, participants will then reach the historic finish line inside Nottingham Castle.
Participants can expect brilliant support and an electric atmosphere from start to finish. Nottingham supporters are known for their enthusiasm, making every runner feel celebrated all along the course.
Not just a route with something for everyone to appreciate, runners embarking upon the challenge will be greeted with a goody bag of rewards, including post-run treats and a hard-earned bespoke medal for them to remember the day.
Featuring a finish line inside the grounds of Nottingham Castle, all spectators must purchase a spectator ticket to access the finish line.
Tickets are limited to four per transaction and can be purchased pre event by visiting: https://visit-nottinghamshire. gigantic.com/nottingham-10k- tickets-presale-2809
Providing a fundraising vehicle for charities is the primary objective of every Run For All event, ensuring that the money being raised stays local and supports the causes that needs them most.
With charity at its core, the event is expected to raise tens of thousands of pounds for a number of local and national charities.
Participants have been encouraged to fundraise for a chosen charity or for one of the event’s partner charities; Base 51, Framework, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, Maggies, Mansfield Cat Rescue, Mind Nottinghamshire, Radford Care Group, Stand Against MND and Trent Bridge Community Trust.
Set to be more than a just a running festival, this year’s Nottingham 10K will highlight the incredible communities in and around the city, from music groups, running clubs, volunteers, schools and universities; all corners of the city have shown their support.
