Nottingham High School students are once again celebrating this week after achieving outstanding GCSE results, with over 87% of results at the equivalent of Grade 7 or above.
58% of pupils achieved nothing below a Grade 7 in any subject, and seven pupils scored a full set of Grade 9 or A* outcomes.
Headmaster Andrew Holman said: “The buzz in the School this morning was fantastic, with pupils richly deserving of the results they achieved.
“They have worked so hard over the past two years, and made especially good use of their teachers and the School’s facilities in the weeks leading up to their exams, keen to eke out as much as possible.
“As a cohort, they can rightly claim to be the strongest ever at the High School, which is no small accolade. I know they would wish to join me in thanking the staff here, and their own parents, for all of the support they have received.”
“We now look forward to most of the students embarking upon their A Level studies, undoubtedly keen to get off to a strong start and build upon the practices they’ve establish during their GCSEs, joined by a healthy crop of newcomers to Year 12.
“Many will be looking to add new opportunities to the diverse portfolio of co-curricular activities which are already a feature of their School life, and take advantage of the increased levels of independence, responsibility and challenge that they will enjoy.”
